Every time I boot up the game now, I always end my session feeling frustrated and defeated. It has an absolutely ridiculous health pool and is literally just a bullet hell boss. Last but not least, I believe that the alt floor final boss is just heinous. Some of the rooms on these floors feel impossible to not take damage in. I never have fun going down to the alt floors, and IMHO I feel like gehenna and dross have the worst mobs, most unfair mobs in the game (melee mobs, fly circle). Speaking of which, the alt floor is just awful. Now I don't even care if I take damage because I know that almost all items in the devil pool (yes even brimstone) will never be worth losing heart containers. I really have a problem with this because I feel like devil deals gave me a great incentive to do well on the current floor by rewarding me with potential items that would be worth my precious heart containers. Also, Devil deals have been completely nerfed into the ground. I feel like unless you have upwards of 600 hours of playtime, or if your really good naturally at this type of game, there is no possible way to accomplish some of the harder feats in this game without constantly getting the best possible items on every floor.Įvery time I try to play out a run with ok items, every room feels more like a chore than actual fun gameplay. For starters, it now feels like you have to restart if you don't get an s tier item right off the bat. With this new current update, this is now not the case, and it feels like a completely different and unfun game (at least to me). The thing I loved about rebirth and afterbirth+ is even with garbage items, you could still find a way to beat the run and get that accomplishment on your character's post-it notes (or at least have fun doing it). Isaac used to be my go too game to accomplish this goal, it used to be the ultimate thrill of luck and calculated risk-reward gameplay. I don't have a lot of time to play video games (student) so suffice it to say that when I do take the time to sit down and play video games, I'd like to get some enjoyment and stress relief. Let me start this off by saying I'm a casual player (around 300 hours).
